This affordable tutoring service at Q.E.T.S is designed to meet your unique needs as a bilingual young adult or adult who wants to study online. Each course includes a password protected ESL Study Center, a study plan, daily lessons, the regular exchange of email messages, secure instant messaging, and weekly telephone and/or online classroom sessions with your ESL Instructor.* All instruction is provided in English by a certified teacher with many years of classroom and online teaching experience.

» When you begin your first month of instruction at Q.E.T.S, a personal ESL Study Center is set up for your use. There you will access your assignments, listen to audio clips, view presentations, and download study materials that have been created to meet your specific needs. You will also be able to answer quiz questions and send comments directly to your ESL Instructor.

» All learning activities are developed using the "communicative" approach to language teaching. The lessons are based on units from Interchange Third Edition, which is a 4-level course for adult and young adult learners of English. Each textbook includes an audio CD for use with listening activities.

Recommended English Skill Level for Online Instruction:

Since this is an online tutoring program taught in English, you will need to be comfortable using the Internet and have some "conversational English" skills to benefit from instruction.

Course Objectives:

The tutoring program activities will vary according to your English language skill level and personal goals. The ESL Instructor will help you master the listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills needed to communicate effectively in English.

	You will be assigned a password protected personal ESL Study Center at Q.E.T.S.
	Your ESL Instructor will develop a course Study Plan that will help you achieve your personal goals.
	The ESL Instructor will maintain monthly calendar pages with your Study Schedule.
	You will receive daily Lessons that reinforce course objectives, assist you in the identification of weak skill areas, and help you master new English language skills.
	Practice activities will be posted for each new lesson. These will include both textbook assignments and other skill-building exercises.
	Vocabulary activities will be posted for each lesson along with flash card files and crossword puzzles to help you master new words and phrases.
	Your progress will be monitored throughout the course with lesson quizzes. The Quiz page provides instructions for completing these activities.
	After every quiz, the ESL Instructor will post feedback on your performance on the Analysis page.
	Review activities will be posted that will help you focus on those skills that need more work.
	Links will be provided for Online follow-up and enrichment activities on the Internet.
	Study materials required for this course are posted on the study Tools page along with links to other useful resources.

Evaluation Methods:

Workbook exercises and review quizzes will be used to track your progress through this course. Each Student's Book contains "progress checks" and a listening "self-study" section.

Interchange Series with Audio CD
	Interchange Student's Books with Audio CD Interchange Third Edition is a 4-level series for adult and young adult learners of English from the beginning to the high-intermediate level. Included is a Student Audio CD that contains the Conversation, Pronunciation, and Self-study section from the Student's Book.
Optional ESL Dictionary
	The Newbury House Dictionary of American English with CD-ROM Developed by English Language teaching professionals, this book is a valuable reference text for all learners of American English language and culture. It includes a CD-ROM electronic reference tool with a pronunciation guide, hundreds of drawings, and many full-color photos.
Bilingual Dictionary
As a non-native speaker of English, you are expected to have a bilingual dictionary with English and your native language.
